Thoughtful care helps travel gear stay cleaner, safer and ready for the next journey.
Start with the product label
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions supplied with the product. Where those instructions differ from this general guide, the manufacturer’s directions take priority.
After every trip
- Remove loose hair, dirt, sand and food.
- Wipe hard surfaces with a damp cloth and pet-safe cleaner.
- Allow damp products to dry fully before storage.
- Check straps, seams, clips, zips and anchor points for wear.
Soft goods
Close fasteners before washing and use a laundry bag where suitable. Hand wash or use a gentle cold cycle only when permitted by the care label. Air drying is generally kinder to coatings, padding and hardware.
Carriers, restraints and safety gear
Inspect load-bearing components before every use. Replace products that are damaged, distorted, chewed, frayed or involved in a significant impact. Never modify safety equipment in a way that could reduce its performance.
Hydration and feeding products
Wash before first use and after each trip. Dry completely between uses and inspect seals, lids and valves regularly.
