Travel guide

Flying with pets

Air travel requirements vary by airline, route, aircraft, destination, breed and season. Confirm every requirement directly before booking.

Start early

Contact the airline and your veterinarian well before travel. Ask about approved carrier dimensions, weight limits, documentation, health checks, breed restrictions, temperature embargoes and check-in procedures.

Choose the carrier carefully

Your pet should be able to stand naturally, turn around and lie down. Measure using the airline’s method and check internal carrier dimensions. A product described as airline-style or airline-approved is not automatically accepted by every airline.

Build familiarity

Introduce the carrier at home with the door open, familiar bedding and positive experiences. Do not wait until departure day.

Travel day

Follow veterinary and airline instructions for food, water, medication and arrival time. Secure identification to the carrier without creating a snag or chewing hazard.

Important

Fur & Far does not approve products on behalf of airlines. Current airline and government requirements take priority over general product descriptions or guides.
